PATRICK & MENZIES LEADS MOTORING AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
To help motorists stay safe, Patrick & Menzies, has created a list of top ten tips:
1. If you need glasses for distance (including TV), wear them every time you drive, even for short distances.
2. Keep a spare pair of glasses and prescription sunglasses in your car. This is a legal requirement in many EU countries.
3. Make sure your glasses and the windscreen are clean.
4. Ensure your car lights work properly.
5. Don’t use tinted glasses in poor visibility or at night.
6. Be aware of poorly fitting and the cheaper varifocal designs - they can restrict your peripheral vision.
7. Remember that your sight can be affected by alcohol, prescription medicines and tiredness.
8. Don’t look too long at on-coming headlights – look slightly to the left of oncoming vehicles.
9. Have your sight tested regularly, especially if you are over the age of 50!
10. High quality anti-glare coatings for spectacles are also available to help motorists see more clearly.
