Visual Stress Assessments
Some people are more visually sensitive than others; migraine sufferers are an example. Flicker from artificial lights, glare from computer screens and night driving can all be difficult and uncomfortable.
Research at Essex University has shown that Precision tints can have an instrumental role in improving reading skills, reducing screen glare, and generally improving visual comfort in certain people.
Colorimetry, a scientifically proven method of assessing precision tints, is available at Patrick and Menzies.
Vision and Migraine
Many migraine sufferers have difficulty with glare and flicker. Examples include using a computer screen, supermarket lights, reading.
Scientific evidence has shown that colorimetry (precision tints) can have a dramatic effect on visual comfort and reducing eye strain and tension.
Colorimetry is available at Patrick and Menzies Independent opticians.
For an assessment, we recommend an initial eye examination with Gavin Rebello or Charlotte Metcalf. At which you should discuss your migraine and any visual difficulties you may have. They will then be able to advise whether colorimetry will be of benefit to you.
